Kristen J. Mason

Founding Attorney

Kristen Mason founded Mason Appellate Law with a practice devoted exclusively to criminal appeals: direct appeals, petitions for writs of habeas corpus, and post-conviction relief in state and federal courts throughout California. A former trial attorney who has always practiced on the defense side, she has built a reputation for effective appellate advocacy rooted in a thorough command of California's new sentencing and conviction-review laws — SB 1437, AB 333, SB 483, and the Racial Justice Act. She was recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2024 through 2026.
